Fractions

(hide Information)
Goal: To de-mystify, once and for all, the concept of fractions; communicate it as an evolving, intuitive notion associated with halves and quarters and work ones way upwards to more sophisticated fraction concepts.

For Whom: A must for all learners from beginners (aged 6-7 years old and upwards) to those wishing to review their understanding and practice of Fraction operations at higher grade levels.

Older learners with difficulties making connections between (abstract) numerals and (real) quantities.

Special focus: Visual distillations of fraction concepts and operations; continuous and extensive practice using exercise templates; inspiring learners to succeed at higher, more complex levels.

Best For: The majority of mainstream students whose grasp and mastery of fractions remain chronically weak and uncertain; ideal for the hearing impaired and dyscalculic learners; and teachers wishing to develop a sequential, non-resistant approach to teaching fractions.

Note: The first 8 Sets cover approximately 15 % of the entire Karismath Fractions courseware. The remaining sets will be on offer between now and August, 2010.
