Goal: Understand multiplication as (a) repetitive addition and (b) Intersections and terms like “times”, “product” and “increase many times”.
For Whom: Young Learners between 7-9 years; all hearing-impaired learners. Older learners with math learning difficulties/dyscalculia. Gifted learners can start at 6-7 years.
Special Focus: Multiplication as intersections (ideal for preparing for algebraic multiplication); visual demonstration of regrouping right from the start; problem-solving.
Best for: Learning to distinguish from the previous two operations (Add and Subtract) when problem-solving; those who need help with recalling the multiplication operation.
